Poor Richard Nixon Didn't Have The Wingnutosphere To Help Him!

Gordon Liddy blathering and whining (and quoting Kurt Cobain) on The U.S. vs. John Lennon:

Well, first there's the old adage that, you know, just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not after you, but the mainstream press, both print and electronic media in those days, they owned the information business in this country, and they were aligned against [Nixon] just as they are [now] against President Bush. The difference now is that you've got Fox News, you've got talk radio, you've got the blogosphere, so that supporting views can reach the public. In those [Nixon's] days, they did not, and so there was that sense of 'beleaguerment,' if you will; but there was also an understanding that this is, you know, civil war by another name, and we're gonna win this war.
